In Memoriam: Don Oyston

We regret to announce that Don Oyston passed away February 8th at St Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, he was in his 77th year. Don was married to Doris and had two sons Bob and Darryl and a daughter Debra. His three kids are what gravitated Don to Soccer 42 Years ago. In his earliest days Don became involved with Brantford Youth Soccer first in a coaching capacity as a house league coach and later as a rep coach. Over the years Don has held all positions within the Club serving as Convenor, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, President and later Director. Through the years Don was synonymous with getting the Best deal for Brantford City Soccer as possible procuring uniforms and equipment with a hard-nosed fashion as his only goal was the advancement of the club. For those of you who know Don he always had a smile on his face and a joke for every occasion. Don is going to be sadly missed. He was a very valuable individual with a wealth of knowledge. We say goodbye to a very good friend and colleague Don Oyston.
